I wanted to present the idea of the ego comprehensively. So, I chose to work with video. Masks have a characteristic, which are representative of what and concealment of the actual. (e.g. heroes in cartoon, and movies). Continuously, masks reproduce images, which are crossed and merged together, in this video. I feel that we are stuck in the frame of images which we made or someone else made. The feeling is like I cannot breathe. And the scene of seeing a mirror with wearing a mirror helmet, it represents to escape recognised self by the image. In the dressing scene, the video is played backwards. I thought, it shows two way of thinking about the ego that taking on and off clothes. it means that finding primitive self as super ego or finding accomplished self. I wanted to show both way of thinking about the “self-awareness”.
